The best times to view the planets during December are shown below:

REMEMBER - UT is the same as GMT (Greenwich Mean Time).

Mercury - is best placed on 18 December at 16:30 to 17:00UT and can be found in the constallation of Sagittarius.

Venus - is best placed on 1 November at 06:15UT and can be found in the constellation of Virgo. Venus will be at magnitude -3.8 for the rest of the month.

Mars - is best placed on 30 November at 04:50UT and can be found in the constellation of Cancer. At the start of the month its magnitude will be +0.4 and towards the end of the month it will brighten to -0.1. 

Jupiter
- is best placed on 1 November at 18:30UT. It can be found in the constellation of Capricornus and will fluctuate from magnitude -2.3 to -2.1.

Saturn - is best placed on 30 November at 05:30UT. It can be found in the constellation of Virgo and is at magnitude +0.7.

Uranus - can be seen well all month (1 November at 21:00, 15 November and 30 November at 19:00UT). It can be found in the constellation of Pisces and has a magnitude of +5.8 (just visible to the naked eye).

Neptune - is best place on 1 November at 19:00UT. It can be found in the constellation of Capricornus, wth a magnitude of +7.9.
